#000000;font-family: Lato;font-size: 12pt;background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5)\"> requires that health screenings be conducted at various grade levels.\u00a0 Nurses from the St. Johns County School District, in conjunction with trained school personnel and volunteers, conduct the screenings.\u00a0 Screenings will be completed during the first semester of school.\u00a0 Below are the grade level screenings,\u00a0along with the required\u00a0grade levels for these screenings:<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #4054b2#2d5099\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><span lang=\"en-US\" style=\"font-family: Lato\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\">Screenings by Grade Level<\/span><br \/><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-size: <span lang=\"en-US\" style=\"font-family: Lato\"><strong>HEIGHT AND WEIGHT:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\" style=\"font-family: Lato\">\u00a0 first and third<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 19.2pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;color: #000000\"><span lang=\"en-US\" style=\"font-family: Lato\">If a student\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\" style=\"font-family: Lato;font-weight: bold\">DOES NOT PASS<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\" style=\"font-family: Lato\">\u00a0the vision or hearing screening, a referral letter\/phone call will be sent home indicating\u00a0that further examination and corrective measures are needed.\u00a0 Health screening information is confidential and the results are filed in each student\u2019s cumulative folder.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 19.2pt\"><span lang=\"en-US\" style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Lato;color: #000000\">Parents have the option to\u00a0decline their child\u2019s participation in the health screenings.\u00a0 Parents who do\u00a0not wish their child to participate must complete the opt-out portion of the parent permission letter that is sent home prior to the screening.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 19.2pt\"><span lang=\"en-US\" style=\"font-size: 12pt;font-family: Lato;color: #000000\">*If your child wears glasses, please make sure the student is wearing them the day of the
